CHEAT DAY!!! Inspiration

Personal Challenge 15 of 20

End of Week 3!!!

Yay. One week left of this challenge. I had some ideas for this post, but lately I've been told that these are getting too long and honestly they are getting a bit heavy for me too.

I'll probably have some of my ideas written in next week's 5 posts somewhere, but here's to breaking up the pattern of density with something light and NOT WRITTEN BY ME.

Here is a poem I read once in junior high. It's easy to find because it's all over the internet and apparently no one knows who wrote it. Still I think the message is inspirational and for some reason it seems to be coming up frequently in recent conversations I've had.

I hope that you enjoy reading it (if you haven't seen it before) or reading it again (if you have).

Thanks for taking the time.

Jaime

Here is the poem. Enjoy:

When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world.

I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation.

When I found I couldn't change the nation, I began to focus on my town.

I couldn't change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family. Now, as an old man, I realize the only thing I can change is myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had changed myself,

I could have made an impact on my family.

My family and I could have made an impact on our town.

Their impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have changed the world.
